LINGUISTIC TRAINING

 

PLAN FOR OBTAINING THE LANGUAGE TRAINING FOR THE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE

(Approved by the Board of Governors of the University of Alicante -10/7/2001)

 

Teachers working in Valencia should be capabilities to teach in the language of this Community (Law 4/183 of 23 November, Use and Teaching of Valencian, art. 23). The Order of 24 May 1995 (1438, No. DOGV. 2530, 15/6/95) by regulating the OBTAINING training certificate or diploma of master Valencian within studies leading to the award of different university degrees. (By Order of 16 August 1994 - DOGV, No. 2331, of 24-8-94 - have revalidated the Certificat de Grau Mitjà of valence Coneixements Qualificadora Board, those who hold the Certificate of Training for Linguistics Education)

 

The Department of Catalan, which at the University of Alicante has assigned areas of Catalan and Teaching Language and Literature referring to the Valencian , agreed that to ensure "the domain sufficient oral and written Valencian" graduates of this University must pass the following subjects, according to evidence.


ITINERARY


0. DEGREE IN CATALAN PHILOLOGY

 

Provide a transcript equivalent to Certificate and Diploma Training Teacher Valenciano to all graduates in Catalan Studies, as for the degree have been met and exceeded the requirements stipulated in the Order.


1. DIFFERENT SPECIALTIES OF TEACHER

 

For Training Certificate (30 credits) or Master Diploma Valenciano (40 credits) graduates in the Diploma in Teacher should approve:


1.  Necessarily, the following subjects Plan 2000:

 

1. Language (6 or 4 '5 c.) and the Language School and Valencia (4 ' 5 c.)

 

2. The subject or subjects of Language and Literature and its Didactics (Catalan) of their specialty or Language Skills Development (imparted by the Department of Catalan).


2.  The remaining credits, up to 30 for the Certificate of Training or 40 for the Diploma of Teacher of Valencia, the students made by choosing from the following subjects taught by the Department of Catalan within the Curriculum Teaching:

 

-  "Children's Literature (E. Child) (4'5 c.)

-  Language Skills Development (Early Childhood Education) (6 c.)

-  Language and Literature and its Didactics (Catalan) (Music Education) (6 c.)

-  Language and Literature and its Didactics (Catalan) (Physical Education) (6 c.)

-  Language and Literature and its Didactics (Catalan) (Foreign Language) (9 c.)

-  Language and Literature and its Didactics I (Catalan ) (Primary Education) (6 c.)

-  Language and Literature and its Didactics II (Catalan) (Primary Education) (6 c.)

 

-  Another a 'free choice of supply own Department of Catalan (you can not choose subjects from other degree with a content equivalent to those already studied).

 

-  Any subject of the University whose teaching is in Valencia. Given that the purpose of obtaining credit for certification in Valencian, the subjects between 4 and 6 credits accounted for only 1, and having more than 6, accounted for 2 credits. In any case, this procedure can only be issued up to 6 credits.

 

-  The Practicum in Valencia for the Diploma of Teaching, which counted a total of 7 credits.

 

-  Any course, workshop, conferences, congress, symposium, etc.. that credits for free choice and has been previously recognized by the Department of Catalan or Valencian Interuniversity Institute of Philology, especially considering that for the Certificate of Training will allow only a maximum of 2 credits earned by this procedure, and for the Diploma of Master, a maximum of 4.


2. DEGREE IN TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION

 

If you would like to obtain the transcript for the Teacher Training Certificate in the Teaching in Valencian, must pass a minimum of 32 credits, distributed among the subjects following as the Curriculum 2000:


A)   Subjects included as core or compulsory within the curriculum of Translation and Interpretation (2000):

 

-  Castellano I (8116) or Catalan Language I (8118) or Introduction to Catalan R (8207) (8 credits)

-  Catalan Language II (8130) or Introduction to Catalan II (8208) (8 credits)

-  Spanish-Catalan Translation General (8119) (10.5 credits) or specific translation Spanish-Catalan (8131) (10 credits)


B)   As optional subjects included in the Plan Studied:

 

-  Teaching Language and Literature (Valenciano) I (8650) (6 credits)


3.   GRADUATE STUDIES MISCELLANEOUS: (Spanish, French, English)

 

If you would like to obtain the transcript for the Teacher Training Certificate in the Teaching in Valencian, must pass a minimum 36 credits, distributed in the following subjects, according to the Curriculum Studies, 2000:


A)    -  Catalan Language I (8601) (12 credits)

-  Catalan Literature I (8603) (12 credits) or Catalan Literature II (8604) (12 credits)

-  Teaching Language and Literature (Valenciano) (8650) (6 credits)

 

B)   One of the following:

 

-  Semantics and Lexicology Catalan R (8607) (6 credits)

-  Contemporary Catalan Literature (8608) (6 credits)

-  Catalan Phonology and Morphology (8609) (6 credits)

-  Medieval Catalan Literature I ( 8610) (6 credits)

-  Catalan Modernist Literature (8611) (6 credits)

-  Catalan Text Analysis (8613) (6 credits)

-  Syntax Catalana I (8614) (6 credits)

-  Catalan literature Medieval II (8616) (6 crèdtis)

-  Literature Medieval Catalan III (8617) (6 crèdtis)

-  Contemporary Catalan Literature II (8618) (6 credits)

-  Contemporary Catalan Literature III (8620) (6 credits)

-  Terminology Catalana (8624) (6 credits)

-  Catalan Sociolinguistics I (8627) (6 credits)

-  Spanish-Catalan Translation General (8629) (6 credits)

-  popular Catalan Literature (8645) (6 credits)


4.   MASTER OF ARTS

 

The graduates in this specialty can teach secondary language. Therefore needed training in Catalan language and literature and teaching of language and literature. Within the Humanities curriculum is a major supply Catalan subjects should seize. Must take a minimum of 32 credits, distributed among the following subjects as the Curriculum 1996:


A)   Subjects included as core or compulsory within the curriculum of Humanities:

 

-   Catalan Language (3253) (6c)

-   Literatura Catalana (3264) (6c)

-   Sociolinguistics Catalana (3280) (4'5c)

-   Catalan Comparative Literature (3281) (4'5c)


B)   As optional subjects included in the curriculum of Catalan:

 

-   Teaching Language and Literature (Valenciano) I (8650) (6 credits)


C)   The remaining credits are some of the subjects enrolled in the Department of Catalan or Catalan taught in other departments for the Humanities:

 

-   Current Catalan Literature (6888) (6 credits )

-   Introduction to Roman Literature I (7640) (4.5 crèdtis)

-   Introduction to Literature Romance II (7641) (4.5 credits )

-   History of the Catalan Language (7643) (6 credits)

-   Workshop for Fiction (7642) (6 credits)

-   Introduction to Contemporary Valencia (7620) (4.5 credits)


5.   GRADUATES IN ANY OTHER FIELD

 

If you want to get the transcript for the Certificate of Training for teaching in Valencia, they must pass a minimum of 32 credits, distributed among the following subjects:


A)   Basic training in Catalan, which has to realize one of the following options:

 

-   Language ( 8605) (12 credits, the Syllabus of Catalan)

-   Catalan Language (3253) (6 credits Humanities Curriculum)

-   Tongue Catalana I (4748) or (10034) and II (4754) or (10037) (4'5 and 4'5 credits Syllabus Advertising)

-   Language (7607) and Communication Skills in Social Work (7608) (4'5 and 4'5 credits, syllabus of Social Work)


B)    A specialty course Language (6 credits) :

 

- Legal Sciences (8675)

- Social and Human Sciences (8676)

- Experimental Sciences and scientific and technical disciplines (8677)

- Economics (8678)

- Life Sciences (8679)


C)   Subject included as an optional subject in the curriculum of Catalan:

 

- Teaching Language and Literature (Valenciano) I (8650) (6 credits)


D)   One or two courses of 6 credits from:

 

-  Catalan Sociolinguistics I (8627) (6 credits)

-  Sociolinguistics Catalan II (8628) (6 credits)

-  Terminology Catalana (8624) (6 credits)

-  Spanish-Catalan Translation General (8629) (6 credits)ç

-  Popular Catalan Literature (8645) (6 credits)


E)   Another subject of the Department of Catalan or materials of the University as teaching is in Valencia. In the latter case, it takes into account that for the purpose of obtaining credit, the subjects between 4.5 and 6 credits accounted for only 2, and those with more than 6.5 to 9 accounted for 3 and more than 9 recorded 4. In all cases, this procedure may provide a maximum of 8 credits.
